Conducted during 4 days in October and November, 2011. A total 269 flights were observed. Averaged over all four days, 61% of all traffic was flight school and training related. On Friday November 18, Justice Aviation alone accounted for 59% of all SMO flight traffic during the period studied, while all flight school and training flights combined constituted 76% of all SMO traffic.  Justice is the largest flight school at SMO.  This study was presented at the November 28, 2011 Airport Commission Meeting.
